Roundup: Pumpkin Patch

We're halfway through October and the neighbors two doors down have started lighting up their jack-o-lanterns every night.

Remember me saying how I love pumpkins? Well, there seem to be a lot of other people on the Internets who feel the same way I do. I was looking for one or two DIY pumpkin projects to share with you all, and I found too many to choose from. There's one here for pretty much every taste--or you could mix and match and have an assortment of pumpkin decor that lasts until it's time to put the Christmas things up instead.

First up are these wood block pumpkins from Paper Glue Etc. There aren't DIY instructions on the blog, but I think it's pretty easy to look and figure out how these were done. Orange paint, sticks, raffia, ribbon, and hot glue mixed with wood blocks of varying sizes, and you have a great, chunky arrangement.

I think these would be great by a fireplace

Rachelle of Adventures in Creating also used paint, but she applied it to real pumpkins. I'm a big fan of the way she used masking tape to block portions off, and I really like the choice of glossy spray paint as well.

A couple of these in shades of gray, maybe?

The Pursuit of Happiness' Lisa decided to sew and stuff a few pumpkins using burlap. Is it just me, or is burlap pretty much one of the coolest things around these days in the DIY world? I really like its open, rustic texture, and the fact that it changes completely based on what you pair it with--burlap can be anything from modern chic to mid-century mod to 1800's farmhouse.

Next we've got a set of ribbon pumpkins design by Cullen Kids' Mum. These are white foam pumpkins, but you could just as easily paint a real or wooden one if you're like me and tend to be a weird hippie about things like foam. How fun is that ribbon?

In addition to going all Halloween with the design for everything I love and more, Tera picked up some plastic pumpkins and some Martha Stewart glitter and took her decor to a whole new level. I would love to see these in pinks and greens for a girl's room, too.

Now we're really going to step it up. Crystal, of Frugal Chic Living, decorated not one but nine pumpkins. All with a little black contact paper that will peel right off when it's time to do some carving (or baking).

I really love this. Putting text on a pumpkin is something that just tickles my fancy.

At MyCraftyMoments, it's clear that there are people out there who share my love of non-orange pumpkins this year. Check this gorgeous one out--made at home from a bit of white dryer venting, hot glue, and a stick! (based on this tutorial)

WhipperBerry has one of my favorite DIY pumpkin projects so far this year. Can you believe she made this out of scrapbook paper?

One of my favorite things about this project is that it could be modified throughout the year by doing slightly different colors and shapes. A bell, a Christmas tree, an apple, a beach ball, etc.

And last, but not least, my favorite of the bunch.

When you go thrifting, do you find yourself confronted with all sorts of beautiful sweaters in sizes you can't wear? (Or perhaps you live somewhere perpetually hot?)

Borrow a page from My Dear Trash and make a couple of these cashmere pumpkins.

I can't even stand the cuteness here. LOVE that key tied to the white one. Love the multiple colors. And love the arrangement of them on top of those old book pages. What a great coffee table display!

Have you found even more awesome pumpkin stuff out there? Did you come up with a pumpkin project yourself that you'd like to share? Leave a comment!
